UPDATES FROM MS. ROSE

DISCOVERY FAIR 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Graders
2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders are entered in the Discovery Fair students will be presenting their Research Projects from Ms. Rose’s class.

IAA/ ISAT Dates: 3rd -5th graders
ISAT’s March 2nd – 12th/ IAA February 22nd- March 19th

Special Education Feedback:
Mike Padavic our special education director is looking for feedback on the department, please fill out and return surveys sent home this week.


Upcoming Dates:
February 20- District wide “1,2,3 Magic” Presentation
February 22nd- Discovery Fair Presentation 7-8:30 pm
March 29th- April 2nd Spring Break
April 28th: Parent Night for Ms. Rose’s Students- More info to come

Parent Support Group Meeting:
I am encouraging you to attend district wide parent presentations and support groups but will be continuing to have conferences and meetings as needed.

Homework Packets:
Since the beginning of the year I have wanted to put together homework packets for the students. It’s finally done!
Packets include- work your child can do independently, work in areas where generalization is needed, or work in areas where maintenance is needed.
There is NO DUE DATE, please send back as completed and your child will earn a star towards extra free time for the work they bring back!

Novel Study: Reading and writing are a key component to everything we do, in school. In April and May we will be doing novel studies based on your child’s needs and areas of interest.

UPDATE FROM MS. CHILTON-ROSE


POKEY THE TURTLE!
Pokey was on an extended summer vaction in Ms.Rose’s home, but has returned to the classroom for lap crawling and carrot eating fun!


What is a GLOG?
A glog is a way to make a webpage (or an internet poster) and a great way for me to provide you with Internet tools and resources that work well for your student. I am currently putting one together for each student this may not be completed till the end of the year. But feel free to send videos or pictures to add to your child’s glog.
IAA/ ISAT Dates: 3rd -5th graders
ISAT’s March 2nd – 12th/ IAA February 22nd- March 19th
Parent Teacher Conferences:
Week of February 4th and 5th, these will be set up through general education teachers. Please let us know if there is a specific team member you need to be there, otherwise we do our best to be at all conferences.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade Research Project: DISCOVERY FAIR
In order for us to demonstrate the academic and social skills we have been working on, we are going to research Dinosaurs and present our research. Students will be given the option to present at the Discovery Fair February 22nd and we will have a special evening April 29th, where students from Ms. Rose’s class can present this and other work they are proud of to our parents, and staff from school. MORE INFORMATION TO COME!

Ms. Rose Parent Meeting:

There will NOT be a parent meeting this Thursday. There are several District wide parent meetings I would like to encourage you to attend. We will have our next parent meeting in January after the Holidays.
